Manga Pachadi/Kachamba Bhudith
Manga Pachadi/Kachamba Bhudith
A side dish which is tangy and spicy served with rice in madurai wedding feasts. This recipe requires no cooking except the seasoning done at the end. Easy and healthy!
Cuisine: South Indian
Coarse: Side dish
Cooking Time: 2 mins
Prep Time: 10 mins
Ingredients
- half of a raw mango
- 2 tbsp grated coconut
- 1 tsp thick curd
- 3 green chillies
- salt to taste
- a pinch of asafetida
For seasoning:
- mustard seeds
- urad dal
- few curry leaves
Directions
Step 1:
Chop the raw mango along with the skin into smaller pieces and put them into a mixie. Chopping the raw mango into smaller pieces would ease the process of grinding.
Step 2:Grind it coarsely. Just run the mixie in low speed for a few secs. Add grated coconut, green chilli, curd, salt and asafetida. Grind them coarsely.
Step 3:Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter. Add urad dal and let the color change to golden brown. Add curry leaves and pour into the pachadi. Ready to serve!.
Notes:
1. Since none of the ingredients are cooked, this stays good for 2-3 days if kept in fridge.
2. This recipe tastes good if grind coarsely. Do not grind into a smooth paste.
