Rose milk cake

Eggless cake made with milk, butter and white sugar. We get to see a nice baby pink color in the cake after baking while we use white sugar. As the cake is eggless, I'm using butter to make the cake soft. To give the cake a look and feel of rose milk cake, I have used condensed milk with rose syrup as frosting.


Ingredients

For cake:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1.5 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp Rose syrup
  • 3/4 rose milk (milk combined with rose syrup)
For frosting(optional):
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk or as required. For 3 sliced cakes frosting, I needed 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • Rose syrup essence as required
  • sprinkles are required
Directions 
Step 1:
Take 1 stick/half cup of unsalted butter in a mixing bowl. Whisk it thoroughly for 3 mins.

Step 2:
Add sugar and whisk again for 3 mins.
Step 3:
Add condensed milk and mix well(Do not whisk).
Step 4:
Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, rose syrup and mix well. Add rose milk as required. This gives a thick batter. 
Step 5:
Grease the baking tray with butter and keep a parchment paper on it. Pour the batter onto the greased tray.
Step 6:
Preheat the oven at 350 degree Fahrenheit and bake for 25 mins. As I have used 8 inch square pan, it took 25 mins to bake. The baking time has to be increased or decreased based on the diameter of the pan. 6 inch pan would require more baking time while 9 inch pan require lesser than 25 mins baking time.
Step 7(frosting):
This step is optional. Add rose syrup to condensed milk and spread it on the cake. Sprinkle some sprinklers on the top. Allow it to set for 2 to 3 hrs. or overnight.

Notes:
1. You can substitute white sugar with brown sugar but we won't be able to get the same baby pink color of rose milk.
2. Frosting can be with whipping cream traditionally or any other frosting as you desire. 
3. You may add any type of sprinklers or chocolate chips on top to attract the kids. 
4. Cakes would always tastes better the next day of preparing it. Sugar level would be perfect the next day and if it is a cake with egg, we won't have the smell of egg while we eat on next day. So, reserve the cake for next day:-).
